Pionierzy AI #2 🩺 80 attendees in Gdańsk and 5 real AI deployments in healthcare

The second edition of Pionierzy AI headed to the coast and, for the first time, had a single theme: artificial intelligence in healthcare. 80 attendees, 5 talks and an evening where doctors, founders, researchers and data people looked at the same problem from five different angles.

🩺 Our first themed edition: AI in healthcare

Pionierzy AI is a meetup for people who actually deploy artificial intelligence in their own organisations. The format does not change: 15 minutes for one completed deployment, with numbers, costs and the parts that did not work. No ten-year forecasts and no sales decks.

One thing was new: the entire edition shared a single topic, and we picked the hardest one available. In healthcare a model error does not end with a worse conversion rate, patient data is among the most sensitive data there is, and the product itself is often a medical device that has to be certified. If AI works there, it works anywhere.

The second edition of Pionierzy AI took place on 20 August 2026 at the Kainos space in Gdańsk, at Jana z Kolna 11. Admission was free.

👉 Who took the stage

Five talks from a dental clinic, a university, the medtech industry and a technology company. Each one about a single deployment that is already running:

• Jan Młodzianowski (M&M Dental Clinic) - How AI analyses X-rays and dental imaging, and assists the doctor in diagnosis
• Dr Bartosz Fiałek (RheumaNext) - From the consulting room to my own AI. Building a system that supports diagnostics
• Przemysław Grzywa (Revolve Healthcare) - Behind the scenes of certification and clinical evidence for an AI app for stroke patients
• Dr Patryk Jasik (Gdańsk University of Technology) - Detecting intracranial aneurysms earlier. AI that looks beyond the images
• Szymon Dziedzic (Personit) - Hospital shift rosters built in minutes, with hour limits and rest requirements respected

The lesson: in healthcare you have to solve data and compliance first, and only then think about the model. Medical confidentiality, GDPR and medical device status force decisions that other industries can skip. Przemysław made this the most explicit: the algorithm is one thing, while clinical evidence and certification are a separate, longer project that almost nobody talks about on stage.

The second common thread: the scale of the problem is often surprisingly mundane. Next to aneurysm detection and diagnostic imaging, the same stage hosted a talk about building shift rosters, a task that eats dozens of hours a month in a hospital and excites nobody until somebody hands it to a machine. The best deployments are rarely the most spectacular ones.

The third thing that came up in every session: the human stays at the end of the process. None of the speakers handed a clinical decision over to AI. The model prepares, suggests, filters and shortens the path, while the signature remains with the doctor.

⚡ Edition 3: back to the Rotunda with AI in small and mid-sized companies

The third edition returns to Warsaw and is themed again, this time around companies that have neither an IT department nor a corporate budget.

Edition 3 details:

• Where: PKO Rotunda, Marszałkowska 100/102, Warsaw
• Theme: AI in small and mid-sized companies, deployments without an IT department and without a six-month project
• Speakers: 6 practitioners
• Admission: free, limited to 150 seats

If you have deployed AI in your own company and want to take the stage, you can still submit a talk for the upcoming editions. You do not need to be a professional speaker: we have already had people who stepped on stage for the first time in their lives.
